Challenge

Thentia database technology was created specifically for regulatory bodies and private businesses that are committed to the highest level of regulatory compliance and governance. The company released several products that have completely different functionality, but use one design system elements and components.

Open Regulate is built on graph-based database technology with AI capabilities. Before Open Regulate was launched the product team has decided to develop unique style illustrations for its promotional website to create a more trendy look and feel and attract Millennials.

Solution

I've started my creative process by talking to stakeholders and defining the concepts for each product. Open Regulate aim to create a positive impact every day and its illustrations suppose to have more casual and relaxing style. It works for customers even when they are out of office, while, for example, Smart Govern is more business oriented.

Considering these nuances I've focused on developing a general style of characters. I wanted them to look diverse and smooth (as the product flow) at once. I've spent some time on sketching (images are coming soon) and reviewing my ideas with the rest of the team and stakeholders.

After multiple review sessions the final design was approved and the next step was to define the color palette. Each product has its primary color and this color is used as the main focus of the illustrations. The rest colors represent Thentia Corporation and are included in its brand book.

As the result, a library of characters, various objects and backgrounds was created. It's fully customizable and reusable. The main difference is primary color and character's life style according product's specifications. Also, there is a set of technology icons that uses only Thentia's color palette and works for every product's website.
